MARC CAMILLE CHAIMOWICZ
Born in Paris, lives and works in London and in Bourgogne (France)
Marc-Camille Chaimowicz is an artist with diverse practices who frequently develops his artistic projects in collaboration with craftsmen. Easily passing from art performance to painting, sculpture, installation, writing or design, he explores the fragility of the boundaries between private and public spheres but also the relationships between art and decorative art. Marc Camille Chaimowicz has composed a repertoire of patterns and colors he constantly revisits so as to conceive and create a universe.
For this edition with Gabriele Anton, Marc-Camille Chaimowicz designed a series of four parasols the names of which are like an invitation to stroll about such cities as Baden Baden, Biarritz, Vienna and Cluny. Made by the collaboration of French craftsmen (glassworkers CERFAV, woodturners, textile craftsmen, embroiderer) these art parasols are deliberately at the crossroads of contemporary art, design and fashion.
